During the entire month of October, I will be taking and uploading a self portrait a day with the theme of HALLOWEEN! Some will be scary, some will be more kid friendly. This has to be one of the creepiest self-portraits I've ever done. I was disgusted when I was editing it. I AM GROSS. Enjoy!
Toned down the creepy just a bit. October 2nd, 2013

October 4th, 2013 I ended up taking this on the drive way behind my house. My friend Alfonso helped me move my light and turn on my sync every time I would take a picture because it was low on battery and would turn off after every shot. Pain in the butt, but I need new batteries. Thanks again dude! I uploaded this late because I was having trouble with my computer and it's old and I can't afford a new one right now. Better late than never! Check out how I did most of the steps on Vine: https://vine.co/v/hXWrYanUmTT Enjoy :)
October 5th, 2013 I wanted to go more kid friendly today with the subtle of creepy. I adopted a new furry child yesterday at San Diego Comic Fest so here is our un-traditional family portrait. Enjoy!
October 6, 2013 I bought this sweet mask at Walmart today knowing I wanted to get crazy with it and incorporate it in today's shoot. Check out the vine: https://vine.co/v/hXnMWziWwLZ Enjoy!
October 7th, 2013 My computer is on to me and decided to rebel and not run Photoshop the past two days. I finally got it working and I'm also getting a new computer in the next few days because mine is a dinosaur. Sorry about that guys! If you follow me on Instagram (@anabphoto) you saw previews and knew what was coming for the day. Enjoy!
October 8th, 2013 I used a few images that I took when I visited Seattle in August. This was inspired by the talented Cristina Otero (http://500px.com/cristinaotero). SO much talented for such a young photographer. Enjoy!
October 9th, 2013 This was inspired by the new season of American Horror Story. Although this isn't as gory and the show gets, I thought a voodoo inspired photo shoot would be cool to try.
October 10, 2013 I finally got a new computer so i'll be back to posting my project daily with no interruptions of my old computer sabotaging me.

October 12, 2013 Played around with some fabric and hair flips today.
October 13, 2013 Walking Dead season 4 started today so naturally, I had to do something zombie themed.
October 14th, 2013 Messed around with some slow shutter speeds and dry ice today. I also got a good work out by running back and forth. It's safe to say that my work out for the year is done.
October 15th, 2013 I think I might have mentioned that I like to get over things or get most of my frustration out in my pictures. Well, this is definitely one of those. I'm trying not to stress out about applying to art school and trying to find a way to pay for it all. Looking into scholarships and hoping I'm able to qualify for financial aid, typical transferring thing. I am not happy what so ever in the community college I'm attending right now. I'm NOT complaining about the awesome photo program that they have at all or the staff in that department. They all rule by the way. I think since I've been done with the required photo classes for a while now and I'm trying to finish my general ed, I feel like I dread going to school. I still get up every morning and do my best but there are two classes where I feel like they're sucking away my happiness no matter how hard I try to keep a positive mentality. We all go through it in one way or another. Some of us are better at certain things/subjects than others. I'm honestly just grateful that I have my photography as an outlet and it brings me such happiness. Good ol' college stress.
October 16th, 2013 It's Wednesday so I got inspired by American Horror Story Coven once again. That show is SO good.
October 17th, 2013 Inspired by Batman: The Killing Joke.
October 18th, 2013 Since today the Carrie remake comes out, I thought I'd do something similar but with my artsy fartsy twist.

October 20th, 2013 These aren't brains! I decided to take a cheesy zombie route today because of The Walking Dead Sunday. A zombie trying to live a human life. The struggle.
October 21st, 2013 Inspired by the song "Face Value" by The Ghost Inside.

October 24th, 2013 I've been feeling like a zombie and listening to too much of Twenty One Pilots lately. The last part isn't necessarily a bad thing.

October 26th, 2013 I took a mini road trip to Los Angeles with my best friend yesterday to visit one of our close friends so I had to take my daily picture there. I looked up creepy places there and because of time I didn't get to shoot or check them out. My friend showed me the back of her apartment complex and I immediately thought of doing some sort of alien abduction kind of thing. I used to get freaked out when watching shows and documentaries about aliens as a kid (a little less now that I'm an adult) but I'd still love to watch them. In those shows, the people that would experience alien abductions, would always say that they had mini flashbacks and everything went blurry, so I incorporated that in post production. Enjoy!
October 27th, 2013 Thanks a bunch to my friend Dakota for letting me put blood on him & being a trooper!
October 28th, 2013 Thank you so much to my friend Pam Garcia for doing an amazing job on this Bride of Frankenstein inspired makeup as well as Haylie Calvert for making my hair look fab. Y'all rule.

October 30th, 2013 My "31 Days of Halloween" project is coming to an end and today I stuck with creepy ghost and traditional pumpkins.
So this is my last self-portrait in my "31 Days of Halloween" series. I'm very excited to complete it and I wish October was longer. I'm also stoked that I won't have to model for myself every day because I'm tired of looking at my face every time I open these pictures on photoshop hahah but it worked out. I'm planning on hopefully making a book out of this series, I'll have details up soon if you'd like to support! I'm sure some of you were expecting this last picture to have massive amounts of blood and gore but I wanted to stick to my Mexican Catholic roots and I also wanted to do something for my mom. She's not a fan of Halloween because of our Mexican traditions. She knows how much I love it and knows it's my art so she supports me anyway. So this one is for you mom :) Thanks to Ryan Micallef and Haylie Calvert for assisting me!
